Age is not a barrier for adventure-loving people when it comes to trying out novel and exciting pastimes. Sally Webster, 85, a care home resident from Cheshire, United Kingdom, raised the bar by traveling on the “world’s fastest” zip line. Sally Webster went down the 1.5 km long, 500-foot high zip line with her daughter Juliet.
Webster can be seen ziplining quickly at a speed of 100 mph while wearing safety gear and goggles in a video shared by Reuters on Twitter. She is seen moving toward a breathtaking view of a quarry. Her 52-year-old yoga instructor daughter Juliet was also observed ziplining next to her. Once they finished their descent, Webster, who was donning a hard helmet and padded safety gear, grinned and posed for pictures beside her daughter. In the video, Webster can be heard describing how the event left her speechless. After being shared, the video has accumulated over 107.3K views.

“Wow! Today’s zipline experience made me feel really alive. I was first anxious yet really delighted. I never saw myself standing atop Snowdonia at my age, much alone ziplining down it. The zipline experience with my kid was the highlight,” Webster told The Independent.
Webster reportedly traveled through Penrhyn Slate Quarry in Wales on Zip World’s Velocity 2 zipline, which the company boasts is the fastest zipline in the whole world.
She said, “The journey to the peak was spectacular, and seeing the mountain ranges and the clean rural air brought back memories of where I was raised as a youngster.” In her mid-sixties, the octogenarian achieved popularity for her adventurous attitude after paragliding above Morzine, France. She has been an active member of the Fulbourne Ramblers club for almost 20 years and has spent a lot of time trekking across East Anglia and other regions of Europe.
Webster’s excursion to the zipline was organized as a result of her care home, Deewater Grange, setting up a “wishing tree” where patients could submit ideas for brand-new interests or hobbies.
