A four-year-old girl was raped and later killed in the Bannu District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in yet another horrifying case of child sexual assault.
The incident, according to the police, happened on Jaman Road in Bannu. The suspect has been detained and is being questioned right now.
According to preliminary investigation, the suspect was the child’s maternal uncle. According to the authorities, the deceased child’s body has been taken to a hospital in the interim.
Imran Ali, the man convicted of raping and killing six-year-old Zainab Ansari in Kasur in 2018, was hanged, yet there have still been cases of child sexual assault across the nation.
According to The News, an NGO against child sexual abuse in Pakistan named Sahil disclosed in their report “Cruel Numbers 2022” that 2,211 children were abused sexually and in other ways between January and June of this year.
Data shows that 1,207 girls and 1,004 boys were exploited, bringing the daily average for abused youngsters to almost 12 people.
This year, there have been 803 documented occurrences of kidnapping, 243 rapes, 298 sodomy incidents, 41 gang rape cases, and 87 gang sodomy episodes.
“As many as 17 boys and 13 girls have been murdered after committing sexual abuse. In a horrible incident, two boys and a girl were murdered after gang sodomy and rape, while 212 children were found missing. There were 17 cases of early child marriage and three cases of vani.”
Statistics reveal that out of 2,211 incidents, the abusers were known to the victim or the victim’s family in 1,050 cases.
